Filippo Rizzo’s estate is tucked away amidst the rolling hills of Sicily’s rugged interior, where the only point of reference is the distant, ever-watchful peak of Mount Etna. The vineyards are planted on a blend of clay, sandstone, and silex, and have been farmed organically from the very beginning. Biodiversity is at the heart of Filippo’s farming philosophy, and in recent years, he has taken strides to replant forests of carob, eucalyptus, and ginesta alongside the vines. Filippo’s belief is simple: great wine begins in the vineyard. His approach in the cantina is equally unfussy, resulting in wines that are pure, rustic, and nourishing—each bottle a true expression of Sicily. We are honored to share them with you.
